On digital plants & more

Transcribing music, leopard tattoos, meal sharing.

Helloo! We’ll do things a little differently now. Instead of trying to make every issue the perfect issue, I’ll try for consistency. So I might not always sound the smartest, there won’t always be enough to share, but there will always be something in your inbox on Tuesdays.

This issue of Jungle Mein Mangal covers an artist turning nature into digital interfaces; a zine collecting pieces on the joy of cooking together; tattoo artistry from 500 BCE; and a little more to fill your week.

TerraSynthesis // Miraal Habib is a visual artist experimenting at the intersection of tech and nature. With this project, she turns plants into digital interfaces through a lot of brain and effort in ways that appear to be magic. Take a look at some of her other work here.

Ok Wow

An anthropologist, a tattoo artist, and a Siberian mummy walk into a bar // Researchers collaborated with an artist to reconstruct tattoos on a 2,500 year old mummy found in the Siberian Altai mountains. The designs include a stag surrounded by leopards on the left forearm, and a griffin battling a deer on the right.

One Final Thing
