// The heading about covers it

Gather’s 2nd episode happened this weekend, and it was so cathartic to be among people who work in the same field as you but don’t feel the need to use that as the only subject to talk about.

I found someone who believes as strongly in manifestation and what your subconscious mind can achieve as I do; someone also hoping to open a tiny little shared art space where people can come and hang out and experiment with everything in and outside of design; someone who had the same love for making stationery as me. Lots of dhoop, kinnus, and a very supportive atmosphere.

// Come fangirl with me

Farheen Raza for Aomi // She’s done this NFAK cover before on several occasions, but the simple but so gorgeous set is doing something for me.

// News I care about, and you should too

Gaza Biennale // A worldwide biennale is currently underway at galleries and museums across the world featuring work by more than 50 Palestinian artists. It is also being staged within Gaza. Find out more here.

Palestine museum at Israel’s former embassy // With Israel set to close its embassy in Dublin, Faisel Saleh - founded of the Palestine Museum, has expressed interest in leasing the building to open an exhibition branch. This would be quite the social, cultural, political statement if Ireland does take the proposal forward.

Apreesh

// This deserves some love

Are You Afraid of the Dark? // Zainab Marvi writes on how superstitions govern women’s mobility and autonomy in Karachi. This is design research gold for me, it’s exactly the type of intersectional topics I want to be researching and creating design artefacts out of. Full fangirling here.

Traveling Balcaos // Balcaos are an architectural element exclusive to traditional houses in Goa - a domestic, intimate space to sit and talk in at the entrance of the home. This public art project takes that space out in the open for conversations on community, identity and belonging.

One Final Thing

// Things so far unsaid

Nothing else for today. Until the next one, shaam bakhair 🌅🤍
